Thanks for that, Alison. I hope it made you smile a few times, though I certainly wasn't smiling on my drive over there until I learned the neighbour would ensure I didn't get eaten ... well, not on the first day!
Brought back memories. I helped out a friend once by house sitting for her Mum and stepdad. Their dog was gorgeous...The 'friend' recommended me to another who pleaded desperation, I obliged. In the end I had to just say , no, sorry! My phone never stopped ringing. I reckon I could have sold my home, and permanently house sat!
That sounds familiar. I rented my house while I housesat (tho' I prefer the term 'pet sitting' as they are the real stars) permanently for the 3 years immediately after I recovered from cancer, chemo & a cancelled conjugality. My petsitting daze only stopped when the woman I'm now married to, the amazing KJ, faced a fresh battle with that awful disease & required me (by then, us) to stop.
I must admit that Saturday was not an enjoyable morning for me. I was very nervous ... until I saw Norman with that teddy bear stuffed in his mouth. Fyi, the owner just sent me a video of him with it. If she gives me permission, I'll add it to the post.
Love it!

A good early Friday morning read!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Luis.
